About MB Careers

Maria Barden, MB Careers, professional headshot. She has been working in careers guidance and careers advise for 5 years and helps people to find a job, write CVs and loves working with charities, supporting their employment programmes.

I set up MB Careers in 2024 while working in higher education as a Careers Consultant. I’ve worked in careers for the past 5 years and currently split my time between working part time at a university, supporting students in mainstream and SEN schools, and running my little business on the side.

Here’s a bit about me:

  • I have a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance and Development, and a BSc in Psychology.

  • I started writing CVs professionally in 2023 and have supported hundreds of job seekers across a range of sectors.

  • In 2024, I became a certified CV Writer and joined the British Association of CV Writers.

  • Over the past 5 years, I’ve worked in universities, schools, charities, employment programmes supporting adults with disabilities, and in a job centre.

My passion lies in supporting job seekers who face multiple barriers into employment. Some of the work I’m most proud of includes supporting autistic adults into work and writing CVs for women living in a women’s refuge.

Certificate from the British Association of CV Writers for Maria Barden, certifying her as a Certified CV Writer, valid until February 12, 2026. This qualification provides Maria with the knowledge to support adults with disabilities, SEN, autism.
